Prof. Dr. Ratna Sitorus, S.Kp., M.App.Sc. is a Professor in the field of Nursing Science at the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Indonesia (FoN UI). She is the 4th Professor of Nursing at FIK UI and the 4th in Indonesia, officially inaugurated on 25 February 2015 at the Universitas Indonesia Assembly Hall by the UI Rector.

In her inaugural lecture entitled “Structuring the Nursing Care Delivery System through the Implementation of the Professional Nursing Practice Model in Hospitals in Indonesia,” Prof. Ratna presented the Professional Nursing Practice Model (Model Praktik Keperawatan Profesional/MPKP) — a model developed and implemented at FoN UI since 1998 and subsequently applied in numerous hospitals across Indonesia. The model has been proven to improve patient and family satisfaction, enhance nurses’ adherence to care standards, and reduce nosocomial infection rates and patient length of stay.

Her primary areas of expertise include nursing management, professional nursing care systems in hospitals, and the development of nursing practice models. She is also a widely referenced author in nursing, with notable publications including Model Praktik Keperawatan Profesional di Rumah Sakit and Manajemen Keperawatan: Manajemen Keperawatan di Ruang Rawat. Her scholarly contributions have had a significant impact on the advancement of professional nursing practice standards in Indonesia.
