Yulia, S.Kp., M.N., Ph.D. is a lecturer in the Medical Surgical Nursing Department at the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Indonesia (FoN UI). She holds a Bachelor of Nursing (S.Kp.), a Master of Nursing (M.N.), and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), and serves as an Assistant Professor with a primary focus on Diabetes Nursing Care.
Her areas of expertise and research interest centre on medical-surgical nursing, diabetes mellitus nursing care, diabetes education, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles to prevent and manage diabetes across all age groups — including children, adolescents, and adults. She is committed to advancing diabetes-aware nursing practice, both in clinical settings and within the community.
In community engagement, she led the PENDAR Diabetes (Pendampingan Sekolah untuk menciptakan Ekologi Pendidikan Sadar Diabetes) program in 2024, an initiative that mentored primary and secondary schools in Depok, West Java, to build a diabetes-aware educational environment. The program reached more than 200 students across several schools, including SDIT and SMPIT Nurul Fikri, and engaged teachers through Training of Trainers (ToT) sessions. The program addressed not only the physical aspects of diabetes prevention but also its psychological and social dimensions — including creating stigma-free environments for children living with diabetes. Her scholarly contributions support the achievement of SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being).
