Biography

Prof. Dr. Enie Novieastari, S.Kp., MSN is a Professor in the Department of Basic Science and Fundamental of Nursing at the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Indonesia (FoN UI).

Her primary areas of expertise include transcultural nursing, cultural competence, nursing education, and quality assurance in nursing education. She teaches a range of courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, including Basic Concepts in Nursing, Nursing Paradigm and Theories, Philosophy and Science in Nursing, Transcultural Nursing, Teaching-Learning in Nursing, and Professionalism in Nursing.

Since 2025, she developed Ethno-Nursing and Cultural Care Research Cluster with other colleagues from different departments at FoN UI. This research cluster focuses on the study and development of nursing practices that are culturally sensitive, grounded in local values, and responsive to the sociocultural and spiritual diversity of client systems across the lifespan in various healthcare settings.

In community engagement, Prof. Enie has been involved in activities focusing on the application of transcultural nursing, promoting healthy lifestyles, and enhancing the cultural competence of nursing students, nursing faculties and healthcare professionals across various communities in Indonesia.
