About

As a faculty member at the Department of Basic Science and Fundamentals Nursing, Dr. Enie is a lecturer for some fundamentals nursing courses in the bachelor program, including Basic Concepts in Nursing, Health Education and Promotion, Nursing Paradigm and Theories, Professionals in Nursing, and Transcultural Nursing. She is also a lecturer in the graduate nursing program for Science in Nursing Course and Ethics and Law in Nursing Course. Besides that, she is an expert in developing the nursing curriculum and education program. Currently, she plays an active role as the head division of the nursing curriculum development at Indonesia nursing education association (AIPNI). She also works as the assessor and reviewer for nursing program accreditation at Indonesian accreditation agency for higher education in health (LAM-PTKes).

Dr. Enie’s research interests in transcultural nursing since her master’s degree and during her doctoral degree, developed a culturally sensitive nursing care model for diabetic patients. They improved the cultural competency of nurses in providing culturally sensitive nursing care in the hospital. Her publications and research interests are mostly related to transcultural nursing and cultural competence, one area of nursing concerned with the person’s culture in the health care system.

Dr. Enie was involved in some community engagement activities related to the application of transcultural nursing and cultural care studies in some specific communities in West Java, improving people’s healthy lifestyles in a specific community, and improving the cultural competence and caring attitude of student and nurses in hospitals.
