
BIONOTE: PROF. ACHIR YANI SYUHAIMIE HAMID, MN, DNSc
Prof. Achir Yani Syuhaimie Hamid, MN, D.Sc, is the Professor in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing at the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Indonesia. She is the member of Board of Professors at Universitas Indonesia and was the Head of Board of Professors at Faculty of Nursing. Prof Yani was the President of Indonesian National Nurses Association and Chair of Indonesian Nursing Collegium Board; Founder and Board member of WSDN (World Society of Disaster Nursing). Member of WANS (World Academic of Nursing Science); APEDNN (Asia Pacific Emergency Disaster Nursing Network); Editor Board Member of HEDN (Health Emergency Disaster Nursing). She was the Visiting Professor of DNGL (Disaster of Nursing Global Leader) Programme at the University of Hyogo and its collaborative universities, WHO Short-term Consultant on Nurse Migration in Indonesia; Nursing Situation in SEAR countries, and Curriculum Development in Bangladesh. EU Consultant for nursing higher education development in Timor Leste, and Project co-lead (Indonesia): Supporting increased bilateral cooperation between Indonesian and Australian nursing professions. She was member of Disaster Emergency Nursing Cluster at Faculty of Nursing Universitas Indonesia. Her research interests and publications are disaster nursing management, mental health-psychiatric nursing, family with special needs particularly during disaster situations. She has been conducting research studies on nursing workforce, and nurse migration. She has been supervising nursing students in mental health-psychiatric nursing specialist; and teaching e.g. on health & nursing policy development; nursing theory construction; dissertation and thesis guidance.
