Important Role of Information Technology in Supporting the Nursing Governance System

Entering the 5.0 era which is full of openness encourages all elements to improve so that using technology is a necessity. Nursing as a profession certainly has big challenges to face it.

The Faculty of Nursing, University Indonesia (FoN UI) as the first and best center for nurse education in Indonesia certainly has a big contribution to creating nurses who are sensitive to technology to face the digital era 5.0.

One of the steps taken was to hold a prototype exhibition which was the result of the Management Information Systems course at the master’s level in nursing. This time the exhibition is themed “Inspiring Nurse In 5.0 Digital Era” which will be held on December 19, 2022 at the Educational Building and Laboratory of the Faculty of Nursing, University of Indonesia.

In this activity various prototypes of nursing applications were exhibited that came from various scientific specializations in the Master of Nursing study program. There are a total of 27 prototypes from students of the University of Indonesia Master of Science in Nursing on display at the 2022 Nursing Information and Management System Exhibition.

Of the 27 prototypes, they come from various specializations, which include medical surgical nursing, oncology nursing, psychiatric nursing, maternity nursing, pediatric nursing, gerontic nursing and nursing management leadership.

“The results of this exhibition can be a solution to the problem of nursing services in the field,” said Policy Analyst Young expert at the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture, Anang Suryana, during a discussion at the 2022 Nursing Information and Management System Exhibition, at the University of Indonesia, Depok , Monday (19/22).

This exhibition was attended by 458 participants consisting of 207 offline participants and 251 dare participants. They come from various hospitals in Indonesia, such as Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, Dr. Sardjito Yogyakarta, RSUP Dr. Hasan Sadikin Bandung, Jakarta National Brain Hospital, Sambang Lihum Hospital, Pariaman Hospital, Tengku Rafi’an Siak Hospital, UPTD Cigondewah Health Center, Medan Hospital, Dr. Soetomo Surabaya, and others. There are also educational institutions such as the Subang State Polytechnic, Andalas University, Stikes Nani Hasanudin Makasar, Muhammadiyah Surakarta University, the Palangkaraya Ministry of Health Polytechnic, and others.

According to Anang Suryana, the government is very supportive of the implementation of digital transformation in the health care sector. This is in line with the policy of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 39 of 2019 concerning Indonesia’s One Data, while the Ministry of Health has included it in the 2024 Indonesia Health Digital Transformation Strategy.

“From the Presidential Decree, the government focuses on developing health data, developing health service applications, and improving the sustainable health technology ecosystem,” he said.

In this regard, the Ministry of Health, through its policy innovation, has launched 6 pillars of Health Transformation, one of which is the strengthening of Health Technology Transformation.

“It is hoped that the results of the 2022 Nursing Information and Management System Exhibition prototype can be followed up especially by hospital leaders for system development to support the plantation management system,” explained Anang.
