Depok, June 17, 2025 – The Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Indonesia (FoN UI), in collaboration with Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), successfully held a talk show titled “Confident in Entrepreneurship, Happy in Retirement” on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at the Ojo Radiat Auditorium, FIK UI Education and Laboratory Building. This event was part of FIK UI’s ongoing efforts to holistically and sustainably empower its human resources.

Featuring four inspiring speakers, the talk show offered strategic insights into entrepreneurial opportunities that employees—especially those approaching retirement—can start building early on. Two speakers shared real-life experiences in running promising ventures such as a home-based minimarket and a fishery business. Another speaker from an entrepreneurial community emphasized the importance of business mentoring, while a representative from BSI presented various Sharia-compliant banking and funding solutions to support early-stage entrepreneurship.

“We want all FIK UI staff to enter retirement with confidence, readiness, and happiness—not only financially, but also psychologically. This talk show is not just about business, but also about the courage to take new steps and find meaning in life after retirement,” said Dr. Nur Agustini, S.Kp., M.Si., General Manager of FIK UI, during an interview.

As part of FIK UI’s vision to become an excellent and impactful institution, this talk show reflects a holistic and human-centered approach to human resource capacity building. Beyond academic excellence, FIK UI places great emphasis on the well-being of its staff, including in preparing for life after retirement.

This activity complements the various human resource capacity-building programs that have been implemented, by adding dimensions of financial and psychological well-being. “We believe that the success of an institution starts from within — from staff who are well, empowered, and ready to face every phase of life with optimism,” she added.

This talk show is not the end point, but rather the starting step of a continuous program to be further developed by FIK UI. In the near future, FIK UI aims to strengthen collaboration with partners such as BSI and entrepreneurial communities to deliver follow-up training sessions, business mentoring, and comprehensive financial solutions.

Closing the event, Dr. Nur Agustini delivered an inspiring message to the entire academic community:

“Retirement is not the end, but the beginning of a new life phase that can still be productive and meaningful. Let us prepare for the future wisely—with a balance of purpose, financial stability, and happiness. Our long experience at FIK UI is an asset that enables us to continue contributing, wherever we are. Stay connected, keep contributing—no matter how small—because a happy retirement is when we continue to feel meaningful and useful.”
