Lifelong Learning Measures

Access to educational resources is available for individuals not enrolled in university. Fon UI offers free courses that lead to certificates or awards, along with complimentary access to a wide range of online resources.

Free courses leading to certificate or award

  1. Basic Nursing Science Course.
    Since 2022, FoN UI provides access to educational resources for those not studying at the university through MOOC. Basic Nursing Science Course can be accessed freely in The Indonesia Cyber Education Institute Platform. This course focuses on understanding the concepts of pathology, pharmacology, microbiology, and parasitology as the basis for developing nursing care plans. The scope of this course is to develop knowledge related to changes in the structure, function, and biochemistry of the human body to the pathophysiology of diseases and pharmacological therapies used to treat these disorders. The learning process uses a student-centered online approach through lecture, animation, Virtual Reality (VR) video, question-based learning, and peer discussion. The language used in this course is English.

Workshop and Trainings by Nursing Training Center FIK UI

NTC FIK UI Provides online courses accessible to the general public through platforms like LMS Nersui.id and LMS Kemenkes RI. Training materials are available on the NTC FIK UI YouTube channel and online learning platforms, allowing for flexible and ongoing access.

Free Access to Course Materials in OVIS UI

Open Videos Universitas Indonesia (OVIS UI) is an online learning platform owned by Universitas Indonesia (UI) that is easily accessible to anyone. The content provided is not limited to the academic community of Universitas Indonesia but is available to the general public from anywhere. The content serves to expand knowledge, facilitate learning, and offer other valuable resources from UI.

To promote lifelong learning among the public, lecturers from the Faculty of Nursing (FoN) at Universitas Indonesia, along with student organizations, host a variety of educational events each year. These events are focused on health-related topics and are categorized into two main types: 1. Open Seminars and Webinars, designed for the general public and aim to raise awareness and knowledge about various health issues; and 2. Workshops and Public Lectures, tailored for health professionals, these events cater specifically to nurses, healthcare workers, and students and lecturers in health and nursing fields, providing in-depth discussions and specialized training.

Through these initiatives, FoN UI strives to foster a culture of continuous education and engagement in health matters within the community.

  ▸ Vocational training events (lifelong learning)

SERUNI (Serambi Demands Knowledge) 2023 is a non-formal education program aimed at enhancing the quality of education and skills for elementary school children in the Kemiri Muka area of Depok City after the COVID-19 pandemic. The program uses creative and innovative learning methods, including study groups, art classes, archipelago classes, and competition weeks. It also involves parents through home visits to support their children’s learning. The goal of SERUNI 2023 is to boost students’ enthusiasm for learning, foster creativity, and cultivate a love for Indonesian culture.

GEMA SEHATI (Reading Movement for Health, Mental and Physical) aims to improve clean and healthy living habits among school-aged children in Sumedang. It addresses various public health aspects, including sanitation, healthy living behaviors (like nutrition and physical activity), education, numeracy, literacy, and information systems. GEMA SEHATI is part of the Community Care Program, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals for villages, particularly promoting health and quality education.
