UI Rector Prof Heri Hermansyah Guarantees Students Can Take Courses Without Financial Constraints

Rector of Universitas Indonesia (UI) Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU, guarantees that every student admitted to UI, especially in the regular programme, will not experience obstacles in attending education due to financial problems. He said that the determination of the Single Tuition Fee (UKT) for Regular Class Undergraduate Programmes and Vocational Education Programmes is adjusted to the socio-economic background data of parents / bearers of education costs.

‘For regular programme students, we must be able to guarantee that the UKT is in accordance with their abilities and is fair,’ Prof Heri said after being officially inaugurated as UI Rector for the 2024-2029 period at the Purnomo Prawiro Multipurpose Hall, UI Depok Campus, on Wednesday (4/12).

He added that various mechanisms have been developed by UI to overcome this. UI has implemented a policy of determining the amount of UKT education costs in an equitable manner based on data and evaluation results of the ability to pay for education costs. For this reason, UI has divided the UKT determination into 11 groups, ranging from the lowest rate of Rp500,000 to the highest of Rp20,000,000.

Furthermore, Prof Heri said, in addition to setting an equitable UKT, UI will also find scholarships for students in need so that they can survive during their education at UI. ‘If there are UI children in the regular class who are unable, please inform us immediately. If you missed anything,’ said Prof Heri.

Information related to UKT rates for UI Undergraduate and Vocational Education Program students in the Class of 2024, both those accepted through the Achievement-Based National Selection (SNBP), Test-Based National Selection (SNBT), and Independent Selection (PPKB, Achievement Path, SIMAK) can be seen on the page ukt.ui.ac.id.
