Introduction to UI and FoN UI

The introduction session of UI and FoN UI was delivered by Dr Kuntarti, S.Kp., M.Biomed, as the Manager of Education and Student Affairs of FoN UI. She also explained that FoN UI as part of UI has an important role in the development of nursing in Indonesia through a research-based curriculum and integrated clinical practice.

Dr Kuntarti also explained the various academic excellence, modern facilities, and achievements of students and lecturers at the national and international levels. She emphasised that FoN UI not only educates students to become competent nurses, but also leaders in the health sector who are able to adapt to technological developments and dynamic community needs.

In addition, Dr Kuntarti emphasised that nurses are not assistants to doctors, but equal partners who collaborate closely with all medical personnel, including doctors, pharmacists, and nutritionists, to provide comprehensive and holistic health services to patients, including biological, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual.

During this visit, Dr. Kuntarti introduced FoN UI as one of the leading nursing education institutions in Indonesia with internationally recognised education programs. FoN UI offers educational programmes from Bachelor and Ners, Master, to Doctoral levels in nursing. Equipped with advanced simulation laboratory facilities, FoN UI is also active in various innovative research in the health sector.

FoN UI students not only learn theory, but also gain practical experience in various well-known hospitals, both at home and abroad. This aims to form professional nurses who are competent, have integrity, and are ready to face global challenges in the health sector.

FoN UI also offers various specialisations in nursing at the master's level, such as Nursing Leadership and Management, Community Nursing, Maternity Nursing, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Mental Nursing, Paediatric Nursing, Oncology Nursing, and Gerontic Nursing.

In addition, FoN UI has an international network of cooperation with various educational institutions and health services in the world, providing opportunities for students to take part in student exchange programmes and follow course internasional. Ini membuka peluang besar bagi para mahasiswa untuk mengembangkan perspektif global dalam praktik keperawatan mereka.

In terms of research, FoN UI continues to encourage students and lecturers to engage in research that is relevant to the needs of society. This research focuses on improving the quality of nursing services, developing new models of care, and innovations in health technology.

Equally important, the learning environment at FoN UI strongly supports multidisciplinary collaboration, where students can work with colleagues from other faculties such as the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Public Health, and Faculty of Pharmacy. This collaboration broadens students' understanding of the role of nurses in a holistic health team.

The event ended with an interactive sharing and Q&A session, where students had the opportunity to ask questions directly to the speakers and undergraduate students of FoN UI. This discussion provides a real picture of campus life, challenges, and inspirational experiences that can motivate students to achieve their dreams in nursing.

This activity is not only an educational event, but also the first step in building the enthusiasm of the younger generation to play an active role in the world of health. FoN UI is ready to be an inspiring educational partner for future leaders in the nursing field. Through this visit, it is hoped that the students of SMAN 114 Jakarta will be inspired and motivated to explore their interest in nursing.
