Depok, 2 September 2025 – The Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Indonesia (FoN UI), welcomed a study visit from the delegation of Cambodia’s Ministry of Health and GIZ Cambodia, facilitated by the Independent Accreditation Agency for Higher Education in Health (LAM-PTKes). The visit served as a platform for sharing experiences in advancing the quality of nursing education and strengthening the capacity of healthcare professionals across Southeast Asia.
The delegation included H.E. Professor Sunnara Yit (Secretary of State, Ministry of Health, Cambodia), Assistant Professor Sokneang Touch (Director of HRDD, Ministry of Health), Mr. Sung Chao (Head of HRDD Pre-service Education, Ministry of Health), Ms. Somontha Sim (HRDD staff, Ministry of Health), Ms. Sokvy Ma (National Institute of Public Health), Dr. Vanny Peng (Programme Component Manager, GIZ-ISPH II), and Dr. Sengkhoun Lim (Health Advisor, GIZ-ISPH II).
Agenda kunjungan mencakup pemaparan profil FIK UI, diskusi mengenai kurikulum pendidikan keperawatan, sistem penjaminan mutu internal, best practice quality assurance dan national-international accreditation hingga tur kampus meliputi kunjungan ke Rumah Sakit dan Perpustakaan UI.
Dekan FIK UI, Prof. Dr. Rr. Tutik Sri Hariyati, S.Kp., MARS, FISQua, CHAE, menekankan bahwa kunjungan ini merupakan langkah penting dalam memperkuat jejaring internasional. “Kualitas layanan kesehatan sangat ditentukan oleh kualitas pendidikan tenaga kesehatan. Dengan saling berbagi pengalaman, kita bisa menginisiasi kerja sama bidang tridharma perguruan tinggi misalnya joint conference.” ujar Prof. Roro.
Meanwhile, H.E. Professor Sunnara Yit expressed his appreciation for FoN UI’s openness in sharing best practices. He noted that Indonesia’s accredited nursing education system could serve as an inspiration for Cambodia in developing a healthcare workforce that is better prepared to meet the needs of its people.
The involvement of GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) through the Improving Quality and Safety in Health (ISPH II) program was also highlighted. As a German international development agency, GIZ has long collaborated with Cambodia’s Ministry of Health to strengthen the capacity of healthcare human resources, including in the fields of nursing and public health.
The program concluded with a visit to the Universitas Indonesia Library as part of an introduction to the university’s academic ecosystem. The delegates expressed their hope that this collaboration would continue in the form of knowledge exchange, joint research, and capacity building for nursing faculty and students in the future.
