The Faculty of Nursing, University of Indonesia (FoN UI) solemnly organised the Oath Taking Ceremony of Ners Graduates at Ojo Radiat Auditorium, FoN UI. This event is an important milestone for 56 graduates in carrying out their responsibilities as professional nurses who are ready to serve the community.

The event began at 09.00 WIB with the entry procession of the graduates, accompanied by the song Di Timur Matahari which was performed by the FoN UI Student Choir. Shortly thereafter, the entourage of leaders of the University of Indonesia and FoN UI entered the room with the accompaniment of the song Genderang UI. The nuances of nationality were felt when the audience sang the song together Indonesia Raya and Mars Fakultas Ilmu Keperawatan UI.

One of the sacred moments in this ceremony was the symbolic handover of the holy book by the Dean of FoN UI to representatives of each religion. This procession marked the graduates' readiness to take the oath, which was then led by the Dean of FoN UI and confirmed by the clergy in accordance with the beliefs of each graduate.

After the oath-taking procession, the proof of oath was signed by representatives of graduates, witnessed by the Dean, Deputy Dean, and representatives of the Indonesian National Nurses Association (PPNI). Song Bagimu Negeri and Hymne PPNI was also echoed as a form of dedication of the graduates to the nursing profession and service to the nation.

As a token of appreciation, UI Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Ir. Mahmud Sudibandriyo, M.Sc., Ph.D., presented medals to the graduates. In addition, the Dean of FoN UI presented each graduate with a proof of oath, officially marking their graduation as professional nurses.

In his speech, the Deputy Graduate, Ns. Akhmad Azhar Basyir, S.Kep., expressed his gratitude and pride, ‘Today is the starting point of our journey as professional nurses. We promise to devote our knowledge and skills to provide the best service for the community.’

RSUI Practice Land Representative, Dr Novita Dwi Istanti, AMK, SKM, MARS, FISQua, emphasised the importance of professionalism in nursing practice. ‘We hope that FoN UI graduates can continue to uphold professional ethics and always improve their competence in this dynamic world of nursing.’ she said.

The Dean of FoN UI, Prof. Dr. Rr. Tutik Sri Hariyati, S.Kp., M.A.R.S., also gave an inspirational message to the graduates, ‘As a nurse, you have a big role to play in the health system. Be a health worker who is not only clinically competent, but also has a high level of care and empathy for patients.’

Meanwhile, UI Vice Rector, Prof. Ir. Mahmud Sudibandriyo, M.Sc., Ph.D., affirmed UI's commitment to producing quality health workers, ‘Universitas Indonesia is proud to produce graduates who are ready to contribute to the nursing field. We believe you will all become agents of change in the world of health.’

In honour of outstanding academic achievement, awards are presented to graduates with cumlaude. This award was represented by Ns. Hanifa Zahrah Shalihah, S.Kep., who achieved the highest GPA of 3.88. In addition, the graduates also officially became part of the UI Alumni Association (ILUNI) with the symbolic pinning of badges.

Towards the end of the event, the graduates presented mementos to the faculty as a token of gratitude for the knowledge and guidance that had been given. The event was also enlivened with special performances from the graduates before closing with a prayer by Ns. Sukihananto, S.Kep., M.Kep. The ceremony then ended with a group photo session between the faculty leaders and the graduates.

The Oath Taking Ceremony of the 2025 FoN UI Ners Graduates went smoothly and gratefully. It is hoped that the graduates can practice the knowledge and skills they have acquired for the advancement of nursing in Indonesia and the welfare of society at large.
