The Faculty of Nursing (FoN) at Universitas Indonesia (UI) officially held its 2025 Faculty Academic System Orientation (PSAF) for undergraduate and RPL students over three days, from Wednesday to Friday (13–15/8). This event served as a gateway for new students to enter the world of higher education in nursing. The activity was a strategic moment to instill academic knowledge, life skills, and professional values needed amidst global health challenges, such as the increasing demand for quality health services, the importance of mental health, and the need for cross-cultural competency.
The first day began with a welcome speech and the official opening of PSAF 2025 by the Dean of FoN UI, Prof. Dr. Rr. Tutik Sri Hariyati, S.Kp., MARS, FISQua, CHAE., who emphasized the importance of academic and mental readiness at the start of university. This was followed by a session on the Introduction to Leadership Structure by Prof. Tutik, the FoN UI Academic System by*Dr. Wiwin Wiarsih, S.Kp., M.N., and an Introduction to Facilities, Infrastructure, and Education Costs by Dr. Masfuri, S.Kp., M.N.
In her speech, the Dean of FoN UI emphasized that future health challenges require nurses who are not only clinically competent but also mentally resilient and sensitive to the needs of the community.
"We want to ensure that every new FoN UI student is ready academically, mentally, and socially, so they can develop into globally competitive professional nurses," said Prof. Roro.
The awareness of professionalism was built through a session on Nursing Student Academic Ethics and Culture by Dr. Enie Novieastari, S.Kp., MSN. Students also gained inspiration from the Talkshow: Readiness to Become a Student with Adkesma BEM FoN UI. The activity continued with Academic Guidance, Student Activities, and Counseling, as well as the assignment of academic advising groups by Dr. Kuntarti, S.Kp., M.Biomed. The first day concluded with SIAK-NG Training by Dwi Setyani, S.A.P., M.A.P., which equipped students with digital academic administration skills.
Student mental health issues were a highlight on the second day. Dr. Novy Helena C. Daulima, S.Kp., M.Sc. delivered a session on Emotional Regulation, helping students manage their emotions and stress during their studies. Campus support services were presented in a session on the UI Makara Satellite Clinic Counseling Service by Ika Malika, M.Psi.
Academic readiness for facing challenges was built through the sessions "Success in Campus, Why Not?" by Dr. Fajar Tri Waluyanti, S.Kp., M.Kep., Sp.Kep.An. and "Boosting Your Excellence!" by Prof. Herni Susanti, S.Kp., M.N., Ph.D. The second day also featured a PKM and Community Service Talkshow, which encouraged students to contribute directly to community health issues, as well as an Alumni Stories Talkshow by ILUNI FoN UI, which presented inspirational stories from graduates who have succeeded in various fields.
The final day focused on inspiration and self-development opportunities. Students were introduced to the LFK Talkshow by the Head of LFK FoN UI, followed by the Outstanding Student Talkshow featuring Fauzan Abdillah Azzam (UI Outstanding Student), Maria Vianny, and Rais Makka (FoN UI Outstanding Students).
The international experience was highlighted in the Outbound Awardee Talkshow, which focused on study and internship opportunities abroad. The event continued with a Scholarship Program Talkshow, featuring selected FoN awardees and the Tanoto Foundation team, which opened up insights into access to educational funding.
PSAF 2025 was officially closed by Dr. Wiwin Wiarsih, S.Kp., M.N., with a motivational message for students to maintain their learning spirit, adapt quickly, and actively build networks.
With a series of sessions covering academics, mental health, self-development, professional networking, and global opportunities, PSAF 2025 is expected to become a solid foundation for new students to grow into nurses with integrity, extensive knowledge, and readiness to answer health challenges in Indonesia and the world.
