Depok, 13 February 2025 - The Faculty of Nursing of the University of Indonesia (FoN UI) enthusiastically welcomed the visit of students from Bintang Madani Omni School Bandung in a series of introductory activities to the world of nursing. The visit aimed to give the students a broader insight into the education, profession, and career opportunities in nursing, which are very relevant for those who are planning for higher education.

In her speech, Dr Wiwin Wiarsih, S.Kp., M.N., Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs of FoN UI, expressed the importance of nursing education that not only emphasises academic aspects, but also character and leadership development. ‘We hope this visit will give the students a deeper insight into the nursing profession, and open up opportunities for them to join and contribute to improving the quality of health services in Indonesia,’ said Dr Wiwin Wiarsih.

Bintang Madani Omni Bandung School, represented by the Principal, Mrs Nurul Fitri Praningtias, S.Pd., stated that this visit is an important step to introduce study options in the health sector which has a vital role in society.

The introductory session of Universitas Indonesia (UI) and the UI Faculty of Nursing was hosted by Dr Wiwin Wiarsih, S.Kp., M.N. In her presentation, Dr Wiwin Wiarsih underlined FoN UI's position as a leading nursing education institution in Indonesia with a strong commitment to quality research-based education and excellent clinical practice. ‘FoN UI focuses on developing nurses who are not only competent in nursing, but also have leadership abilities in facing the world's growing health challenges,’ she explained.

He also revealed that FoN UI offers various study programmes, ranging from Bachelor of Nursing to Masters and Doctoral programmes, with modern facilities and access to renowned hospitals. FoN UI students get the opportunity to practice their knowledge in various institutions both domestically and abroad, which aims to produce professional nurses ready to face global challenges.

FoN UI also stands out with various specialisations in nursing such as Medical-Surgical Nursing, Mental Nursing, Pediatric Nursing, Maternity Nursing, Community Nursing, Oncology Nursing, and Gerontic Nursing, which allows students to explore specific nursing topics according to their interests. In addition, FIK UI is active in health research that has a direct impact on society, and collaborates with various international faculties and institutions.

This session gave the students a clearer picture of life at FoN UI, the challenges they face, and the opportunities they can achieve in the world of nursing.
