Waste in Faculty of Nursing (FoN UI) is sorted according to materials. Hazardous waste in FoN UI is mostly from the waste disposal of the nursing laboratory practice in the faculty. The waste is sorted based on infectious, non-infectious, and toxic hazardous materials. The waste disposal from the laboratories are collected, sorted, packaged, and transferred to the UI Health Sciences Cluster waste disposal site. Every generated and recycled waste are measured and reported. This process is in coordination with the university.
The policy on hazardous waste disposal is regulated in the Laboratory’s Standard Operational Procedure number POB-LAB-003/UN2.F12.D/OTL.03.00/2019 about Laboratory Waste Disposal. This procedure applies to every waste disposal from the laboratories, starting from collecting, sorting, packaging, to transferring waste to the waste disposal site in Health Sciences Cluster Building (RIK).

Waste in Faculty of Nursing (FoN UI) is sorted according to materials; whether it is organic or inorganic. Plastic bottles are also separated from paper waste. For laboratory of FoN UI, the wastes are sorted based on infectious, non-infectious and toxic hazardous materials.
Organic waste is sent to UI waste disposal site for recycling. Averagely, FoN UI transports 27 kg of organic waste per month to UI landfill to be recycled. The compost produced is then used to fertilize soil in the faculty garden.
Plastic bottles collected in FoN UI are transported to garbage collector and subsequentially recycled into plastic ore. Meanwhile, paper waste in FoN UI is shredded in FoN UI shredding machine and transported to garbage collector for recycling. Used paper in good condition is used as envelopes.
