Measures Against Discrimination
Regulations for students with disabilities are based on the Indonesian Ministry of Education No.46, year 2017 and addresses special education and services at the Higher Education and Guideline for Disability Students at the Higher Education (Appendix 13). The regulation is also based on Universitas Indonesia Rector’s Regulation No.14, year 2019 regarding Ethical and Manners Code, and UI Rector Decree No.1860, year 2018 about university team assignments for disabled students. The university has developed the Disability Service Unit, which can be accessed at https://disability.ui.ac.id. The University has no regulation stating that the prospective students should be free from chronic illness. The vision of the Faculty of Nursing is to produce professional nurses who can deliver safe and holistic care. Considering this vision, the faculty decided that all programs run by the faculty do not accept students with disabilities. However, if during the period of study, a student has a health issue, she/he will be given time to get the necessary treatment and allowed to take missed tests at agreed times. Thus, expected competencies can be achieved.
