I started my career in the Faculty of Nursing Universitas Indonesia (FoN UI) in 2008 after my master graduation from the School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Kagoshima University, Japan.
As community health nursing lecturers, we are lecturing on community and gerontic nursing subjects. We provide teaching-learning for the student in academic and professional phases for under and postgraduate programs.
My home-based study program is in the bachelor’s nursing program, but I engage in professional nurse and master’s programs. I focus on gerontic nursing courses and develop the theory and practicum modules for these subjects. Since 2013, I have been developing e-learning to enrich my classes. In pandemic situations, fully online learning has been conducted for all faculty courses, supported by the university’s E-learning Management System (EMAS). I got an e-learning grant in 2020 to develop tutorial videos for the gerontic nursing practicum. We made fourteen tutorial videos which were uploaded on our e-learning page.
My research focuses on elderly care and, more specifically, fall management among institutionalized older people. One of my research results was developing a physical exercise for nursing home residents to decrease fall risk and increase their balance and health status. In our other research conducted in the community setting, we applied interventions to the older people who live with their families. Most of my community engagement or social services are performed in older people’s social institutions.
