Head of the Maternity Nursing Specialist Ners Study Programme

The Maternity Nursing Specialist Ners Study Programme is a study programme that is carried out after students complete the Master of Nursing Science Study Programme. This specialist education stage is taken in 2 semesters and a maximum of 3 semesters. Graduates of the Maternity Nursing Specialist Ners Study Programme will obtain a Maternity Nursing Specialist professional title (Sp.Kep.Mat.).

Vision

"Making the Maternity Nursing Specialist Ners Study Program Faculty of Nursing Science, University of Indonesia as a centre for maternity nursing specialty education with culturally sensitive tridharma of higher education activities in the area of maternity nursing and women's health, responsive to public health needs and advances in science and technology, and always cooperating in networks that can compete nationally and internationally in contributing to health development in 2035."

Mission

  1. Carry out higher nursing education specialising in maternity nursing by providing broad and fair access to the community and having excellence in handling maternity nursing and women's health issues that are culturally sensitive.
  2. Producing maternity nursing specialist graduates who are professional, adaptive, culturally sensitive, competitive, virtuous, and adhere to nursing ethics.
  3. Developing science and technology in maternity nursing specialists through quality research and community service activities that are relevant to maternity and women's reproductive health services.
  4. Develop alumni networks and collaborations with stakeholder at national and international levels.

Objectives

  1. Producing nurses specialising in maternity nursing with a level of expertise according to national standards that are universally accepted and have a global outlook:
  2. Mastering science and technology and skills in the field of maternity nursing and women's health that are culturally sensitive, and can collaborate in national and international networks according to problems in maternal health and women's health in the family context.
  3. Strengthen and develop networks to create a professional maternity nursing community in the Southeast Asian region.
  4. Producing qualified maternity nursing specialist graduates who are able to compete regionally, nationally, and internationally.
  5. Produce a variety of maternity nursing and women's reproductive health research that can contribute to the development of culturally sensitive maternity nursing science both independently and in collaboration with domestic and foreign partners.
  6. Increasing the active role of the academic community in health development and community service for the welfare of women, mothers and their foetuses.
  7. Able to develop and update maternity nursing knowledge through fact-based nursing speciality practice,).
  8. Produce models or approaches in maternal health and women's health services that are in line with culturally sensitive nursing science and technology.

Graduate Profile

Maternity Nursing Specialist who is able to perform case management and provide specialised nursing care using the latest knowledge and specialised nursing skills in an ethical, culturally sensitive, effective and professional manner.

Requirements

Lecture/Practice Time and Place

  1. Have a Ners diploma, Master of Nursing/MSc in Nursing/ Master of Art in Nursing/ Master of health science (Biomedical/Public Health) from an accredited university of at least B or equivalent.
  2. Possess a Competency Certificate or a Ners Registration Certificate.
  3. Memiliki pengalaman kerja minimal dua tahun dalam bidang keperawatan Maternitas setelah lulus Ners.
  4. Have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3 (on a 4.00 scale).
  5. Meet the minimum criteria for TPA and English scores according to UI regulations
  6. Got recommendation from interviewer (after interview at Faculty of Nursing, University of Indonesia)

    If the specialisation of the specialist is not the same as the specialisation background in the Masters programme, it is mandatory to take matriculation 1-2 semesters before participating in specialist education*.

  1. Apply online at the site penerimaan.ui.ac.id
  2. Fill in the track record and upload the academic requirement documents:
    a. Bachelor's, Ners and Master's certificates (make 1 pdf file)
    b. Education institution accreditation certificate of at least B;
    c. Certificate of competence or Registration Certificate;
    d. Certificate of work experience
    e. Letter of permission/learning assignment from the head of the institution where you work
    f. Valid TPA and TOEFL (if applicable) at the link  http://tiny.cc/FormSpesialis-RekamJejak ; if the document is not uploaded, it will be considered as not fulfilling the administrative requirements.
  3. Make payment of SIMAK UI registration fee.
  4. Take the written examination organised by the University of Indonesia;
  5. Participated in an interview organised by Faculty of Nursing UI

Place: UI Depok Campus and practice sites in the Depok, Jakarta, and Bogor areas, or other locations as determined by the relevant Study Programme.

Time: 5 days/week; hours between 08:00 and 18:00 or according to the service schedule at the practice site.
