Mental Nursing Specialist Nursing Study Program and new graduates of Mental Nursing Specialist class XIV hold Scientific Meetings and Mental Nursing Workshops

The Psychiatric Nursing Specialist Study Program and new graduates of Mental Nursing Specialist class XIV held a Mental Nursing Scientific Gathering and Mental Nursing Workshop on 11 and 12 September 2021. The Mental Nursing Scientific Meeting and Mental Nursing Workshop in an atmosphere of the COVID-19 pandemic was carried out virtually and broadcast live on Nursing UI Youtube.

This year’s Scientific Gathering is the 13th event with the theme “Strategies for Prevention of Relapse of ODGJ in health care settings in the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic”. This theme was raised in view of the increasing number of mental health problems in Indonesia. The increase in mental health problems is not only from finding new cases, but also from recurring or relapse cases in people with mental disorders (ODGJ). Moreover, at this time Indonesia is faced with a situation where we have to fight together in tackling the covid 19 pandemic. The right strategy in handling relapses during the covid 19 pandemic will be very useful in efforts to provide mental health services for the community.

This activity was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, University of Indonesia, Mr. Agus Setiawan, S.Kp., M.N., D.N. which was attended by 600 participants through a zoom meeting. In his remarks, the Dean expressed his appreciation to Mental Nursing which continues to contribute to the community in its activity programs.
Present as the Opening Speach is Plt. The Director General of P2P of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, namely Dr. dr. Maxi Rondonuwu, DHSM., MARS. The message conveyed by Dr. Maxi in this Scientific Meeting was that mental health issues should also be a concern. “The current COVID-19 pandemic is one of the stressors that can cause ODGJ to relapse. For this reason, mental health and psychosocial support for ODGJs is needed to prevent recurrence,” said Dr. Maxi
The resource persons in this activity were the Chairperson of the DPP for PPNI Services, Prof. Ahir Yani. S. Hamid, MN., DN.Sc. and Prof. Dr. Budi Anna Keliat, S. Kp., M. App. Sc. Besides that, The resource persons for the activity also came from mental health experts and nurse specialists. A soul who is certainly very competent and experienced in the field of psychiatric nursing.

The Scientific Meeting materials presented by the speakers include:

2. Policies of Professional Organizations in the Development of Relapse Prevention Nursing Practices in ODGJ

4. Family resilience in caring for ODGJ with repeated relapses
5. The role of CMHN in preventing the recurrence of ODGJ
6. The role of nurses and KESWAMAS in mental hospitals in preventing relapse
7. The results of the implementation of the Relapse Prevention Program (P2K) in Mental and Community Hospitals
8. Research results of the 14th batch of Mental Nursing Specialist Nurse students

Meanwhile, the Workshop event which was held on September 12, 2021 was no less interesting. This event took the theme “Latest Guidelines for Nursing Care for Psychiatric Nursing Specialists”. The resource persons in the activity are Prof. Dr. Budi Anna Keliat, S. Kp., M. App. Sc which describes materials on scanning guidelines, formulating nursing diagnoses, Preparing Preliminary Reports (LP) and Implementation Strategies (SP), nurse competency reports in community settings and hospitals. In this activity, feedback from stakeholders is also scheduled, which is the practice area of Mental Nursing Specialist Nurses students. The Head of the Mental Nursing Department, Mrs. Ice Yulia Wardani, S.Kp., M. Kep., Sp.Kep.J expressed her gratitude for the cooperation that has existed between stakeholders and the Department of Mental Nursing FIK UI. “Through this activity, we will get a lot of input for improvement in the practice of Mental Nursing Specialist Nurse students,” he said

The event ended at 18.00 WIB and ended with the handing over of the baton for the 2022 Scientific Gathering and Workshop committee and door prizes for the lucky participants.
