Maternity Nursing Specialist Study Program

Head of Maternity Nursing Specialist Study Program

Maternity Nursing Specialist Study Program is a study program that is carried out after students complete the Nursing Master Study Program. This specialist education phase is taken in 2 semesters and a maximum of 3 semesters. Graduates of the Maternity Nursing Specialist Study Program will obtain the professional Nursing Maternity Nursing Specialist (Sp.Kep.Mat.).

Vision

"Making the Maternity Nursing Specialist Nurse Study Program Faculty of Nursing, University of Indonesia a center for the development of science and technology specialist maternity nursing through the tridharma of higher education that is culturally sensitive in the area of maternity nursing and women's health, responsive to public health needs and collaborates in networks, and can complete nationally and internationally and contribute to health development by 2035."

Mission

  1. Carrying out higher education in maternity nursing specialist nursing by providing broad and fair access to the community and having an advantage in dealing with culturally sensitive issues of maternity nursing and women’s health.
  2. To produce maternity nursing specialist graduates who are professional, adaptive, culturally sensitive, competitive, have good character, and adhere to nursing ethics.
  3. Develop science and technology in maternity nursing specialists through quality research and community service activities relevant to maternity and women’s reproductive health services.
  4. Develop alumni network and stakeholder cooperation at national and international levels.

Goals

Produce one specialist nurse (Sp1) maternity nursing with a level of expertise according to universally accepted national standards and with global insight who:

  1. Mastering science and technology and skills in the field of maternity nursing and women’s health that are culturally sensitive, and able to cooperate in national and international networks according to issues in maternal health and women’s health in the context of the family.
  2. Strengthen and develop networks to create a professional maternity nursing community in the Southeast Asia region.
  3. To produce qualified maternity nursing specialist graduates who are able to compete regionally, nationally and internationally.
  4. Produce various researches on maternity nursing and women’s reproductive health that can contribute to the development of culturally sensitive maternity nursing science both independently and in collaboration with domestic and foreign partners.
  5. Increasing the active role of the academic community in health development and community service for the welfare of women, mothers and their fetuses.
  6. Able to develop and update maternity nursing science through fact-based nursing specialist practice (Evidence Based Practice).
  7. Produce models or approaches in maternal health and women’s health services that are in line with culturally sensitive nursing science and technology.

Graduate Profile

Maternity Nursing Specialist who are able to manage cases and provide specialist nursing care using the latest knowledge and expertise of specialist nursing in an ethical, culturally sensitive, effective and professional manner.

Requirements​

  1. Have a master’s degree in nursing from an accredited college of at least B with a specialization in Maternity Nursing.
  2. Have a bachelor’s degree in Nursing and Nursing Profession from an accredited university at least B.
  3. Have a minimum of 2 (two) years of clinical work experience in the field of specialization that is followed (calculated after graduating from Ners).
  4. Have a Certificate of Registration (STR) Ners.
  5. Have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.00 (out of a 4.00 scale).
  6. Meet the minimum score criteria for TPA and English according to University regulations.
  7. Meet the criteria for a special exam (interview) of at least 70.
  • Register online;
  • Uploading documents related to academic requirements number 1 to 5 (if not uploading the document is considered not to meet administrative requirements);

  • Take a written exam organized by the University;
  • Take the Special Examination (interview) organized by FIK-UI

Time and Place of Lecture/Practice

Place: Faculty of Nursing UI, Depok or Salemba UI Campus (only for guest lecturers)

Time: (3 days/week) or a schedule that is adjusted to the implementation of the current semester’s courses.

Held 6 days/week.

Note: Participants who come from non-University Indonesia graduates, if necessary, must attend and pass the matriculation program for 1 (one) semester.
