The Faculty of Nursing, University of Indonesia (FoN UI) has held the 87th doctoral promotion session for Mrs. Ita Yuanita. Ita Yuanita successfully defended her dissertation entitled The Effectiveness of the Islamic Spiritual-Based Nursing Leadership Model on Job Satisfaction of Nurse Practitioners in Hospitals in Tangerang and Depok, on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at 10.00, on the 4th Floor of the Education Building and Laboratory of the Faculty of Nursing, University of Indonesia, Depok.

The issue of job satisfaction of implementing nurses is still a concern for managers or nursing leaders. One of the factors that have a relationship with the job satisfaction of implementing nurses is spirituality and leadership. Previous studies have studied spiritual leadership in general, but there has been no study of spiritual leadership from an Islamic perspective. Based on this, it is necessary to develop an Islamic spiritual-based nursing leadership model that has an influence on the job satisfaction of implementing nurses. This study aims to identify the application of nursing leadership that integrates Islamic values ​​and to find an Islamic spiritual-based nursing leadership model that affects job satisfaction and Islamic spirituality in the nurse’s workplace. The design of this study used mixed methods, the first stage of the study used a descriptive qualitative approach, the second stage of the study was a quasi-experimental pre-post test design with a control group. The sample of this research is nurses who work in two private type C hospitals with a total of 102 nursing respondents. The treatment given was the head of the room who applied the Islamic spiritual-based nursing leadership model. The results of the first phase of the study found seven themes, namely encouraging an Islamic vision of life, encouraging the belief that Allah SWT is present in the workplace, integrating Islamic values ​​in the workplace, rewarding at work, integrating Islamic values ​​into nursing management functions, the impact of spiritual leadership. Islam and Islamic nursing services. The results of the second phase of the research are that the Islamic spiritual-based nursing leadership model has an influence on nurse job satisfaction (p value <0.05) and the effect is quite large on nurse job satisfaction at work (eta square value 0.06). Recommendations for nursing services, the Islamic spiritual-based nursing leadership model can be applied by the head of the room in encouraging staff job satisfaction.
